Vitality Bournemouth Bay Run 2027
The Vitality Bournemouth Bay Run will take place on 21st March 2027 . Whatever your running ability – fun or competitive, there’s a race for you. Set against the backdrop of Bournemouth’s famous seven-mile stretch of golden sand choose from a variety of distances and enjoy the fantastic views as you walk, jog or run along the South’s premier coastline!

The HealthBus Trust is an award-winning charity that brings healthcare directly to people experiencing homelessness in Bournemouth and nearby areas. We bring hope, dignity, and real change to people facing homelessness, who are some of the most vulnerable and overlooked individuals in our community. Becoming homeless, or even living in fear of it, is incredibly tough. It affects every part of a person’s life: health, wellbeing, future prospects, and confidence. That’s why we focus on providing specialist healthcare to people experiencing homelessness across Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole (BCP).
Our TEAM43 Campaign invites local community members, runners, and partners to participate in the Bournemouth Bay Run event to help raise awareness about the shocking statistic that the average age of women experiencing homelessness is 43 years. We are committed that this must change! Help us raise essential funds for our mission to provide high-quality, patient-centred and relational healthcare in a safe and non-judgmental environment.

VITALITY BOURNEMOUTH BAY RUNS ENVIRONMENTAL AIM
Overall aim
The Vitality Bournemouth Bay Run is committed to making the event as environmentally friendly as possible. One of the main affecters are single use plastics, at many running events plastic bottles are the most widely used form of hydration for participants. This year we are using boxed water and paper cups at all the water stations and canned water at the finish funnel to eliminate the use of single use plastic bottles and cups.
Recycling
There will be drop nets provided at points after each water station for the paper cups and all water station marshals are briefed to pick up any dropped cups from around their water station. These nets are picked up and all the contents will be recycled. At the finish there will be recycling bins for cans and litter pickers throughout Pier Approach.
Single use plastic
As mentioned previously in the overall aim there will be no plastic cups or bottles along the course or at the finish. We have chosen to not have our t-shirts bagged, they come in cardboard boxes. Previously our medals have been singularly bagged, now we have them bagged in 20’s. We have also opted for an online goody bag instead of a physical one, this way the participants get offers and adverts online without using unnecessary of plastic and paper.
Sustainable transport
Participants are advised through social media and in their race packs to use public transport, carshare, or walk or cycle to the event. There is a luggage marquee provided for participants to safely store their belongings if they do decide to opt for sustainable transport, they can leave their personal belongings and clothes in a safe place.
